Whether at work or in your personal life, your reputation is the foundation of the expectations that others have for you. Because of this, all of the interactions you have with them will be colored by the lens of your reputation, whether for better or for worse. A good reputation will mean people will be more likely to give you the benefit of the doubt, while a poor one will mean that people (either consciously or unconsciously) will find it easier to find fault with you. As Warren Buffett reminds us, if we consider the importance of our reputation and how easy it can be to harm it, we can become more motivated to constantly show our integrity and desire to build and maintain our positive reputation.
